California LUFT Manual
LUFT Manual Wiki

The State Water Resources Control Board concluded its initial series of public stakeholder meetings for the revision of the LUFT manual by the end of November 2008. In December, the planning committee met and discussed the notes and comments received during the initial LUFT Manual stakeholder public meetings. The committee determined that using a wiki site to compile the information needed for the manual was a democratic and innovative approach to writing guidance. LUFT Manual Wiki.

"A wiki is a page or collection of web pages designed to enable anyone who accesses it to contribute or modify content, using a simplified markup language. Wikis are often used to create collaborative websites and to power community websites. Wikis are also used in business and government organizations to provide intranet and knowledge management systems." – from Wikipedia

The wiki site was available for public contribution and comment from December 2008 until June 2009.  Over 160 people registered and over 40 people contributed.

The wiki site is still available for public viewing; however, edits cannot currently be made to the wiki as the drafting of the CA LUFT Manual is underway.  Working Groups have assembled the distill the information that was added to the wiki and a meaningful manual is being created.  A draft will be available in the fall of 2009 for public review.  Check back for further updates.
